Hi All,

Please tell me where the Data model manager log files are located on the server and/or the client workstation.

Will the logs show the connection as the user's active directory account or will everyone have the same log on as our administrator account: emsc\bpcadmin?

Please advice me.

Regards,

Raghu

Hi Raghu,

After running Data Manage Package you can see log, in the path where it was saved, the logs will be stored

in the Server, so you can not find them in your local system. Logs will not be depended on the user account, it

will be available under a specific application, hence all the users can view those logs.

The SSIS package will run using BPC installation user.

But the log files for DM package will be stored like file into

Webfolders\Nameofappset\nameofapplication\Provate Publication\ "Real Name of User"

Intp View Status it will be show a record providing the information what was the real user launching tha package.

This information is stored into table tbldtslog

All BPC tasks have parameter USER which is used for authorizations and to check the rights of that user into BPC environment.

So BPC client launch DM package with the user User1

Package will run using user BPCINstall but always the authorization are using the User1.

Log package can be see by the users having right to do that and it is a file stored into Private Publications

View Status provide the information who was running the package when, status....an others.

I hope this will help.

Hi Raghu,

If you look at the log of DM package after running it, you will be able to see the path where it has been saved. The log will be stored in the server and not on the local system.

The log doesnt depend on the user account. The log is available for a particular DM package under an application. So, all the users can see the same log.

Hope this helps.
