ESS Mailing Address Exit button problem

Hello all,

We are having a problem and here is the scenario. A user goes to ESS -> My Address -> New Mailing Address. This takes the user to the Mailing Address entry screen. Without entering anything in any of the fields if the user hits the "Exit" button it causes a new Browser window to open and takes the user directly to the Address section of ESS and displays the My Address link - meanwhile the original browser window with the Mailing Address entry screen is still open. Then if the user then clicks on the My Address link on the new window it throws an error :com.sap.pcuigp.xssfpm.java.FPMRuntimeException: Person is already being processed by user . . . this happens of course because the user is still in fact being processed on the original screen.

So what I would like to know is this: How can I change the behavior of the "Exit" button on the Mailing Address entry screen so it won't open up a new browser window but would simply close the Mailing address entry screen?

Hi Bert,

Solution:

Go to System Configuration -> Service Configuration -> select the application (com.sap.portal.epcflaoder) -> Services - > double u2013click on the epcfloader.

We see the properties with its values in the content area.

Check the value for the property workprotect.mode.default. By default this value is 1. Set the value to 2 and save. than restart the service.
