'member XXX is invalid or is a calculated member' error while validating transformation

Hi Guys,

I am trying to do load transaction data using flat file. During the process I have created and trying to validate the transformation file. I am facing an issue for one dimension, 'memeber XXX is invalid or is a calculated member'. But the member is maintained in master data.tried multiple ways like creating a DUMMY member etc to process. Still no luck please look into this and do the needful.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Best,

Pavan

P.S. Incorrect primary tag, has to be changed to

SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver

Did you figure this out? I am having exactly the same issue in BPC11. Random records are getting same errors but others are getting processed with same dimension members.

Please check the flat file consists of any space at the end of dimension member ID's..?

Thanks

If you look on validation screenshot you will see no space at the end of dimension member ID's!

Dimension processing is done. I was unable to take a snap shot with hierarchy view for the base memebers.

Sorry, but I have no confirmation that 20005662 and 20002534 are base members...

In hierarchy view I am not able to drill down to these 2 plan numbers location.

No other members are rolling to these 2 Plan numbers. These two are rolling upto on Parent ALL_PLAN

"In hierarchy view I am not able to drill down to these 2 plan numbers location." - how is it possible?

How many hierarchies do you have in this dimension?

HI Pavan,

Can you go to DB table for that Dimension and check if CALC = N for that Plan number?

"Yes, they are both the plan numbers are rolling upto ALL_PLAN" - I am not asking about 20005662 and 20002534 rolling to some parent, I am asking if some other members are rolling to 20005662 and 20002534!

What about dimension processing (third time asking...)

P.S. Show screenshot of 20005662 and 20002534 in the hierarchy view!

And what do you mean by:

If in the transformation file you have DELIMITER=TAB

But can you show 20002534 member on the Plan_Number dimension screenshot?

Sure, please find the below screen shot of dimension. Also to answer your next question, Delimiter is TAB not other. Sorry for the confusion.

"Delimiter is TAB not other" - but how it's possible to show screenshot with other instead of tab?

Can you test import with very small file (3 lines) with some other Plan_Number?

Then try with 20002534

Yes that's correct, both are different. It was a manual error, while taking a screen screen shot I scrolled mouse while my cursor was in select delimiter field.

I have tried importing small set files, still the issue remains. Please find the below screen shots.

Transformation file and rejected list.

Please test with DIFFERENT Plan_Number to ensure that the rest is working!

Try to process dimension Plan_Number (change some description to force processing)

Also - do you have dimension member formulas in Plan_Number?

Former Member

I did that for 20005662 plan number, issue remains the same. Also I have tried processing the dimension multiple times but no use.

Could this be related to Hierarchy? Meaning parent and base member relation?

I hope that

20005662

20002534

are base members!

You can't load data to parents...

No Vadim, dimension formulas are not there for Plan_Number

Sorry, do you really think that it's possible to help you without detailed info:

1. Flat file sample

2. Transformation file

3. Conversion files if any
