ALERTS DOUBT: Single Alerts or Multiple Alerts

Hi Team

i have to define the AE & IE Alerts for my Scenario. My sender is JMS and receiver is IDOC. I am creating an AE Alert for the JMS and IE Alert for the IDOC.

In my scenario, in Interface Determination, in conditions i am using the different IDOC flows, based on the payload condition (IDOCFLOWNAME), these flow will be executed accordingly.

My doubt here is should i need to create Alerts for every single idoc flow or Only one Alert will be enough.

please help me out

Only one Alert for the all the errors occuring in IE/ AE is enough....you can re-use the same alert category for other scenarios also

Hi Abhishek

If i use only one Alert , if any error occured in the payload of any idoc flow or if the connection is lost will raise an alert ???

how can we reuse the same alert for other scenarios, pleae let me know.

thanx

It is the Alert Rule that you create in RWB --> Alert Configuration makes the re-use possible....if you give some conditions there (like sender/ receiver) then the alert will be triggered for that particular interface only.

Are you under the impression that Alert Category(AC1) defined for one scenario cannot be used for other scenario?

You can create multiple alerts for IE/ AE.....no restriction.....but will it be a good approach to have separate alert created for each scenario?

Hi Abhishek

Just to confirm i have to create a single AE Alert and a single IE Alert for my scenario. no need to create different alerts for the different idoc flows.

any error in any flow of the idocs will raise either an AE Alert or IE Alert? isnt'it??

tahnk you

Yes, just one alert category for AE and one for IE.

any error in any flow of the idocs will raise either an AE Alert or IE Alert? isnt'it??

If there is any error in sending/ receving IDOC then only IE alert will help....IDOC does not pass through AE and hence that alert category will not help.
