Book Publishing error - "Cannot update the book list on the server."

Hello BPC experts,

I'm running a book to publish to BPC web and I get the error:

"ERROR: Cannot update the book list on the server. Error Mesage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

We've published numerous times and have never received this message.

Hi,

There is a SAP note that refers to the same kind of error message: 1373428.

Just have a look at it, and come back with the status.

If you still have the same error message after that, we'll have to investigate further.

Patrick, thanks for your help. Our tech person looked that issue number up and the error message that came back was:

Error : Cannot update book list on the server.

Error Message : Section definition was changed

Cause

*The issue occurs when the default location path  for the report in !REPNAME has been modified.

*The default location path is   =EVSVR()&"/"&EVAST()&"/"&EVAPP()&"/eExcel/Reports/Book Reports/"&DXX     (where XX is the row number for the corresponding workbook name for a section)

Our error message was

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

We checked our section definitions and they are correct so it appears to be something else.

A simple fix, but we rebooted our server and the problem disappeared. The number one rule of any system - reboot if something's wrong!
