Migration from 3.x to 7.x - Error handling type: communication structure​

Hello Community,

I want to migrate 3.x to 7.x Data Sources. During this process I faced the following error message in the migrate log.

"Communication structure is still in use"

The help-info from SAP recommends to:

"Find the uses of the DDIC structure v1 with the where-used list in transaction SE11 and replace them.
Once all the uses have been removed, you can delete the 3.x InfoSource and the communication structure."

The problem I'm facing right now is that there is actually no possibility to remove any of the uses of the DDIC structure. But I can remove the communication structure, even if it's still in use.

I'm not sure if simply deleting the communication structure is a good way to handle this error. So I'm kinda afraid, that simply deleting the communication structure (without removing the uses) will harm the migration output (e.g. that I lose my transformation connnections)

Can someone help me pls.

It depends on what option you choose while migrating,

If you select,

With export: It migrates the data source to 7.0 and maintains the 3.x data-source structure in RSDS tables. If you use this you can retrieve the data-source to 3.x .

Without Export: It deletes the transfer and communication structures and creates the transfer structure in 7.0. You can't retrieve to 3.x.

Okay, got it.

I have another question concerning the SAP-Help recommendation in this case:

The help-info from SAP recommends to:

"Find the uses of the DDIC structure v1 with the where-used list in transaction SE11 and replace them."

I found out that the ddic structure is used in a program. But what or which structure should I use to replace the current structure?

So, after the migration process of my migrationproject finished, I can see from the migratioin flow that the transformations from the 3.x Object were copied into the new one.

The migration log states the follwoing error comment: "Communication structure from this object is still in use"

That means that I can delete the communication structure in the old 3.x Infosource without facing any Information lost for the migrated object. Is that right?
