Multishift Factor for Straight Line Depreciation

Hi

We are on ECC 6.0 version and went live 2 years ago. Asset Depreciation calculation and posting

are working correctly.

All our Assets are being depreciated on SLM based on the useful life. Dep Key used is XYZ.

For instance, if a gross value of the asset is 1000 and useful life is 5 years, every year 200

is depreciated and eventually asset is fully depreciated at the end of 5th year.

Now my client wants to introduce mutli-shift depreciaton for some assets in Plant & Machinery

class and that too only for few months (i.e. 01.01.2010 to 31.03.2010)

I have activated the Multishift Factor in the Asset Master Layout. Can I use the interval option

in the Asset Masters to assign the shift factor for the above period ?

As far as change in the Depreciation Area for Plant & Machinery Asset Class is concerned (OAYZ),

my Variable Depreciation Portion field has the zero value percentage and it is also greyed out.

How can I enable it if I want to change and put any required value in it ?

Currently the Multishift option in my Dep Key XYZ in T Code AFAMA is "Increase in Depreciation

and expired useful life". Do I need to change this Multishift Option ? If so, which one to be

opted for ?

Also let me know what are all the other changes to be done in config to switch over to multi-shift

depreciation for only few assets and for certain periods only.

Please help me.

Thank you very much
