Multiple SAP R/3 backends

Hi,

We are in SRM 550 server and in ECS. Right now SRM is connected to one SAP R/3 backend system.

Now the business wants to include a different business entity, this new entity has it's own R/3 system, they intend to use the available SRM server for indirect procurement.

How this can be achieved, what are the probable issues can come in material and vendor replication?

How to configure the system so that the follow on document will get created in respective backend system?

Pls provide pointers on the above?

Rgds,

Madhan

Madan,

Each Backend system will be marked with a logical system. This will enable you to control all data in SRM. Vendor replication/material grps they all are based on the logical systems.

You may first define the RFC destinations and then in SPRO define mulitple backend systems. Just ensure you provide all the attributes to users in mulitple logical systems..

Let me know if you have further questions...

Hello,

It is like a roll out.

You need to do all the Backend configuration in ERP and the Backend specific configuration in the SRM system.

You need to also create the Nodes in the Org structure for the requisitioners and the Buyers/Pgrps/Porgs etc and maintain the attributes.

You need to also transfer the Plants and other Master Data that can be used for the shopping like Vendor,Product Categories and Materials/Services in the SRM.
