We had a problem of reports appearing blank due to no data in db. After some time db data available. But reports already run.
Is there not something that we can instrument that tells the reporting engine when to fire and run the reports?
If that is not an option, then what about something in the reports that checks for data and reschedules if there is no data?
Please suggest.
Thanks in advance.

Ramesh.
Hi
you can instruct BO to wait for external events (file triggers) before actually running schedule reports.
Which version of BOBJ do you use?

Hi
you can configure those in the CMC. Take a look at the admin guide:

Configuring external events is rather straightforward. You need the name of the file, which will trigger the event when created. Usually the file resides on a network drive.

Thanks -- appreciated. But whenever the event files pushed to BO server, all daily reports triggered automaticaly with out waiting for the scheduled time. I surprised with this. Why it's not triggering at the scheduled time with events. Please suggest steps to troubleshoot.
Thanks.

I cleaned the instances of other scheduled reports. Then did testing. Still before the scheduled time the report runs immediately after event file appears in the folder.
forexample : I scheduled a report A to run daily at 5:00AM, with events. the event file came at 4:00AM, and the report is triggered with out waiting for the time 5:00AM
Is this the expected behaviour in BO?
Thanks.
