Hi,

You need to use homogenius system copy method.

1) Export data from source system with IA64 bit Kernal DVD .

2) Import data to target system with 32bit kernel DVD.

Thanks

Jibin.

Hi Pappu,

If i am not wrong , you want to do system copy between windows IA64 bit to X86-64 bit.

Best way is use Sapinst system copy method , becuase in your scenario the arcitecture of windows is getting change from Itaninum to AMD which very maters for SAP .

Thanks

1. not sure why do you want to degrade from 64bit to 32bit?

2. If OS and DB are same (although Version of OS and DB may differ) you need to go by Homogeneous Method.

3. System Copy method is totally different from Client Copy Method (System Copy is preferably used when you want to build complete system and wherein client copy is used to create a client on top of existing system)

4. For procedure on System Copy, please refer below link

Hi ,

thanks for your reply , we have lost our development/quality server which was in single box ,

our requirment is to create a new development server with system copy so that we can get all the configruation of golden client .

pl. suggest do we have to do system copy or install a new development system ?

we are using SAP ECC5 only ABAP Stack.

Hi Pappu,

You should not do system copy to refresh development from production.you will lose all versionning in your DEV system. It is not recommended to refresh a DEV system,Its better to Install new system, restore last night backup and perform recovery to build development system.

For Quality you can do System copy from production.

Thanks,
