PP/DS & SNP PDS

Hi,

Our client has a requirement to generate Planned Orders for the Sales Order requirement in a MTO scenario, and for few operation the clients wants to do detailed scheduling and optimisation using PP/DS.

We are using Characteristic dependent Planning so we are planning to use PDS, would be really helpful if someone can resolve the queries below

1. Can we convert PP/DS PDS to SNP PDS as in case of PPM?

2. We will be creating SNP orders using CTM first and use it for PP/DS scheduling later, can we use PP/DS PDS to create SNP orders?

Hello Sanjog Mishrikotkar,

Regarding your second query, PPDS PDS cannot be used to create SNP orders using SNP heuristics

But CTM can use the PPDS PDS,with the correct settings in the CTM profile and other relevant settings.

Hi,

I think I was not able to explain the issue properly, the scenario is that my client has 4 processes before the FG stage and each process has multiple operations.

We are planning to use CDP and using CTM generate Production Plan and Procurement Plan (STO's) and only for one process we are required to use PP/DS for detailed scheduling.

We are planning to create SNP PDS from ECC and generate SNP Planned Orders in CTM.

Also only for the Material code for which we are planning to do PP/DS we are planning to create PP/DS PDS in addition to SNP PDS and use the SNP planned Orders for scheduling in PP/DS.

Also we are planning to use GATP for order confirmation in MATP mode which I think will generate PP/DS orders.

Is this approach of creating SNP PDS and SNP planned orders in CTM and then using it for PP/DS planning correct?

Or should we create PP/DS orders in CTM and what will be the downside to this approach?

Will appreciate any help provided.

Hi Sanjog,

You can create SNP PDS directly as Gaurav said.

Only thing you need to keep in mind if you are using alternate mode in PPDS, then it wont go as SNP PPDS in APO. You need to create different production versions for SNP and then you can send as SNP PPDS.

Hi Sanjog,

The SNP PDS can be created directly from the ECC same as you generate the PPDS PDS. In the Integration Model for PDS choose the flag for the SNP PDS and correspondingly the SNP PDS would be generated. The SNP Planned orders would be using the SNP PDS and PPDS would plan for the PPDS PDS.

It works quiet similar to PPDS PPM and SNP PPM.
