VMfg 5.1 POD Maintenance/ List Maintenance configuration problem

Former Member

in POD Maintenace the Assembly Point List has got only one default list to be used called ASSEMBLY_LIST. We have need to modificate the ASSEMBLY_LIST with adding the value SFC info into it. In

List Maintenance activity (category plugin assemble) you may modify the content of the list but in our case SFC is not available for the column name. Where could I create new column for the SFC so that I'm able to attach it in List Maintenance to be one value for the ASSEMBLY_LIST?

Thanks in advance!

It is not possible to add in the SFC here. I assume you want to display the SFC of the assembled component?

yes, you correct. We like to have visibility in POD which components has been assembled with the serial number information.

Sorry - the assembly list cannot display information about assembled data (except quantity). Its primary funciton is to show what still needs to be assembled.

Samu,

Per system design of Assembly Point, to check the component actually assembled "the user would use the As-Built Configuration Activity for this information".

yes, it's one way to solve this out but I was just thinking if we could somehow integrate the "as build" functionality into POD view.

As you remember you can run As Built Configuration activity from POD (in Default Workstation '*' this activity is hidden under 'Activities' button).

yes, also this is true and we have already used it. But the problem with this solution is so that in our case we might have somethin like 1000 rows in a BOM and assembly points are needed only for ten items. Now if you run the as build for the serial with no assemblies done you have to use "unfilled filtering" and the result will show all 1000 rows. Same result is when only one SFC is assembled, so if you like to see this one assembled + rest of to be assembled once again all 1000 rows will be visible.

So we like to see only rows which have assy pt assigned and the current status which are filled with the serial number info and also assy pt rows which are not filled yet.

Samu,

Have you considered using Choose field of As-built Config?

Here is its description from on-line help:

"Identifies a component in the table by component name, reference designator, inventory ID, or SFC number"

seems to work only for one code, ref des and so on and still the activity will list all rows only higlights the defined one. For instance operation (assy pt) name cannot be used which would be helpfull in our case.

You can suggest this as enhancement for future releases of ME via Consulting Service.
