GATP query

Hi,

This is my first exposure to GATP so will it be really helpful if someone can please help me with few of my queries:

1. Where can we define business events which would trigger ATP check? Also can we do ATP check on Enquiries?

2. When we run GATP check in simulation mode will it consider capacity blocked by other Enquiries/Orders for which Capacity was Planned but no firm Production Order has been created.

I have read the document related to GATP from wiki but it would be really helpful if someone could suggest some useful read or provide a document defining step by step process for GATP settings

Hi Sanjog,

i think the first question is already answered , i will give more details about the 2 question .

Not only in the simulation mode but also in the real time GATP check ,system can confirm based on the planned order for which there is no firm production order , for example a sales order is confirmed based on receipt i.e a planned order dated 7/4/2010 , if the planned order is shifted to another date say 15/04/2010 and if there is another order which is confirmed based on the new date , the confirmation of the first sales order remains , this is an over confirmation situation , to address this issue / shortage , we need to settings in ATP grp .

+ check taking account of the cumulated confirmed quantities .

Hi,

Thanks a lot for all the information and it provided insights in GATP functionality.

But after reading al the documents I still have some queries.

I am using CDP and at the same time I have got multiple BOM's for the Input products at multiple locations.

i.e. FG will have BOM at L1 and will procure input component I1 from location L2

I1 will have BOM at L2 and will procure input component I2 from location L3.

Inquiry will be created for FG at L1, once the inquiry is created CTP needs to be done at L1 and requirement for I1 is gnerated, then CTP for I1 is done at L2 and so till the last chain in the BOM.

As I understand from the document MATP does not support CDP and also will it explode component BOM at all levels at different location.

Can someone please provide some inputs in this regards.

Hi,

Checking rule or business events for SD ( sales order) is defined internally but for MM and PP they can be created in their modules respectively in ERP.

No ATP check for enquires
