End User Roles Tab: Link to security roles on ECC?

Hi-

There is a configurable value in the End User Roles tab where you can populate Roles. However when you select the values they only pull in roles loaded on the SolMan system. How can I access roles in target systems, so they can be mapped to my process hierarchy?

what do u mean by target systems... satellites systems.......i think you are confused somehow

this tab is used for learning map user roles

Learning map use

You want to send the learning map to a group of users with the same business role, e.g. to all accountants in your company, or to the purchasing department. You copy existing business roles in the Solution Manager, or create new ones.

I'm not confused. From the IMG, you can configure the standard selection value to contain "Role". When you select the match code all of the security roles appear, but they are the roles maintained in PFCG of the Solution Manager system.

I want to be able to map security roles from my satellite systems to process steps on this tab. I am familar with Learning maps

That is not supported or possible.

also you can notice there is no Logical component option there

System is designed for different purpose and End User tab is for Leaning managment functionality and not for what you are looking here wihch entirely different thing,

Also where is the documentation telling that this tab can be used for maintaining the Satellite system user's role,if u hav then please share with us.

Ok, if it is not supported at this time I'll close the thread.

However I don't understand why it is not possible. The logical component is maintained at the process level. You can call transactions, development objects and IMG objects from the satellite system. Why wouldn't you be able to do the same for security roles in the satellite system?

I don't have documentation for this, but it seems logical since SAP is including a role value and calling Solution Manager roles. It seems more powerful to be able to link to security roles than for end user roles. But that is just my opinion.
