Replacing BC Cockpit with PI7.1 Monitoring tool

Hi Folks,

I wonder, I have a requirement to Replicating/Migrating the Functionality of BC Cockpit with relevent PI 7.1 Cockpit.

When I say replicate I mean if we have some similar thing in PI

Migration means do we need to do some Z devlopment in Pi to accomodate the existing functionality in BC cockpit.

BC Cockpit is for Monitoring and Manging the interfaces in in BC. BC Cockpit is developed as a Microsoft Access Application that is installed on necessary user desktop computers, and which interacts directly with the SQL Database known as 'transactions'. Tables in this database are updated by various flows in SAP BC and interrogated and updated by the MS Access Application.

And for BC Cockpit conversion I need to Replicate all the Tables, Stored procedures,and Views in SAP PI .

Have you gone through all the monitoring capabilities of SAP PI. I would recommend to go through them and you will understand what all required monitoring fuctionalities of BC are already present in PI. PI has a very strong monitoring architecture and it should solve most of your requirement.

If you still want some change, then Z developments in PI would be required. Replication in PI won't really help because the interface flow and populating tables in PI is much different than it is in BC. It would be entirely new development for you.

Yes, you need to do fresh developement for PI to replace BC. We did a similar kind of migration for one of our client, using a proprietary tool that we developed. It reduced the errorts to be done at IR, like creating the objects xsd and mappings(XSLT). But ID part needs to done Manually.

Can we have any right monitoring way in PI..which matches this functionality???
