Availibility Time Planning Fails To Process Messages

Former Member

We have a few scenarios that use Availability Time Planning to kick off daily at a given time for 10 minutes. After upgrading to PI 701 SPS5 we have had several occasions where the channel wakes up, starts processing the message (even creates a message ID) and then stalls out and doesn't do anything. In this case it is supposed to log on to a vendor's FTP site and poll for a new file, and then retrieve it.

The channel shows GREEN in CC Monitoring. The logs on the processing node show green as well; just there is no indication that the message was successful. There is nothing in the queues; there is no message in SXMB_MONI. There are no errors in DefaultTrace corresponding to the original execution time. However, when we start the process manually (not scheduled), it completes the process as if it just occurred (even changing previous timestamps to be current). Don't know where to go from here, any ideas would be appreciated.

Regards,

Phillip

Expert, no, the messageid in Comm Channel Monitoring is "grayed out" we cannot see the payload until after restarting the channel and it finally goes through with it.

Abhishek, can you tell me why we would do this? We have extensively used Availability Time Planning in our environment. Is this a known issue or have you experienced similar problems in the past? Before investing time to do this I would like to hear your response.

Thanks to both for your comments.
