Is there a possibility to vertically align the text in text fields?
Right click the object and edit is properties. On the Common tab, you can set the object's text rotation to 0 (regular), 90 (vertical running up, or 270 (vertical running down).

I'm sorry it seems like I did not make my point clear enough.
I am searching for a setting with which I can vertically align the text inside a text field.

CR has a series of "Alignment Constraints".
Here are the ones that control vertical placement
crTopAligned
Align to the top.
crBottomAligned
Align to the bottom.
crCenteredVertically
Center vertically.
But I've never found a place where I could use any of them... Even the Online Help is no help!
I know this isn't a true answer but it may get you closer...

Text is vertically aligned by default...
The alignment indicator is can be found by making the rulers visible in the top of the designer pane. The little arrows allow you to move the fields and their associated header together. By moving the fields relative to the little arrows independently, you can align left, center or right. The section of the field box will highlight in red, indicating the area associtated with (or 'stuck to') the little arrow.
I'm sure there's a better name for the little arrow on the ruler.
