Top N Condition - equal values

Hello, I have a top 20 condition in my Bex query based upon a count of order lines by material. It works insofar as it brings back 20 materials however the 19th to 25th ranked materials have a line count of 1 so, with the condition turned on only two of these materials appear and 5 are omitted. I can't see any logical explanation as to how the condition decides which of these materials to include and which to leave out. Many thanks in advance for any insight. Cheers, Guy

Hi Guy,

It is returning the first results the query finds in its search that satisfy the top N condition. My guess would be that it returns the lowest value of the material's technical value, based on alphanumeric sort.

Good luck,

Hello John, thank you for your reply. My initial thought was the same as yours however, I do not have any sort applied to material and the results do not appear in a logical order that I can see. I'll keep looking.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
