Dear all,

We are using SAP BI. In our landscape hyperion is used for financial reporting. Can you please tell me what is the technical option for getting data from hyperion financial management.

a) DB connect

b) UD connect

c) ESSbase

d) XMLA

Which of the above options can be used to connect to Hyperion.

Regards,

Baljit Singh

I had a customer who used both "software packages' as well... we used a BI report to create a flat file which was then uploaded in HFM. Looks to me like that's the "easiest" way

Hi,

We have to get the following data from Hyperion FInancial Management System.

1)Consolidated Bal Sheet

2)Standalnone Bal sheet

3) Any Manual entry (JV)made

Has anyone connected SAP BI to Hyperion FMS?if yes.Can you let me know which Connector you have used and also how to identify the tables to be picked up .As I belive the tables would be MDM.

Let me know.

it is not a question of what BW can do - it is more of a question what Hyperion can provide...

I woul dbe asking the following questions:

Are the calculations stored within the database o r are the rules calculated at run time?

If run time then you need to extract thoruhg the Hyperion application layer - simplest, quickest and cheapest is a report or a dump via a report

If the calculations are stored then dependin gon the database that Hyperion is sittiing on you can use dbconnect, udconnect, (I wouldnt use XMLA as it is a large feed and not trickle feed) - or SAPs standard now Data Federator or BO DS to get the data.
