Upgrading from 8.5 to 11

Hello,

The company I am working at has a large number of reports that have been created using CR 8.5.

Due to a planned upgrade of the ERP system, CR needs to be upgraded to CR 11.

Will the reports that have been created seamlessly work with CR 11 or do I need to somehow convert them, and if so, how?

Hello,

They should work but you should verify each report manually to confirm they still work the same way. There have been changes that could affect database linking and SQL generation. Once verified then save them in the new format into a new location, or backup the originals. Be aware once you save them you will no longer be able to open them in CR 8.5.

How you do this is up to you, either the new ERP system has a report designer or you can find a copy for yourself. CR XI is no longer sold but you may be able to find a copy from some other software source.

Also, CR XI ( 11.0 ) and CR XI R2 ( 11.5 ) are not the same version. XI R2 is still available.

Hi,

Just read your post regarding upgrading from CR 8.5 to CR XI - I have a similar migration that I am working with. Have you been able to complete the migration at your end successfully? Were there any other issues you faced when carrying out this upgrade.

Appreciate if you could share any issues you ran into with this.
