Xcelsius trial version refuses to start

I downloaded and installed Xcelsius trial version. Everything went smoothly, until I tried to start the program. The splash screen appears normally, but after that I get following message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: "My xcelsius.exe path"

This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I took a look at the Xcelsius 2008 SP3 (is the trial SP3? I did not find this information anywhere) release notes and found out that this error can occur if the Windows XP:s temp directory is not located in the default folder. In my computer the temp directory is where it should be, so it can't cause the problem. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for any advice

    I downloaded the trial package and reinstalled. Maybe something went wrong during the first download or during unpacking the files?
