What is the purpose to maintain same step to two condition type in pricing procedure? And how to maintain counter i that condition?

Let me explain you wih an example:
In your pricing structure there are various discounts like - customer based, customer+material based etc.
So your condition types will be based like below:
10.....1......K007............
10.....2......K008............
It is same like sales Bom wherein the bom items are displayed as below:
10......Computer........TAQ
11.............CPU..........TAE
12.........Monitor.........TAE
13.........Keyboard.....TAE
14..........Mouse..........TAE.

STEP : Determines the sequence of the CONDITION TYPE in the pricing
It indicates the Position of CONDITION TYPE in the pricing
Like 10, 20, 30 ...
COUNTER: Counter is used to count the mini steps within the STEP
for example in the Step 20 you can place 0,1,2,3, as counters for the Discount type
Use of counter will reduce the Number of steps and hence increase the system performace.
