Netweaver installation for demo/development system

I am a BOBJ partner and a lng-time BW implementer. I am told that the only suppoeted platform for Lolution Manager/Netweaver is Windows Server 2008 (or 2003). Instructions indicate that Hyper-V needs to be istalled in order to run the Windows Server. Hyper-V is an operationg system based on Windows 7 and I want to know if I should run that upgrade. 1st objective is to run the client (regular windows desktop) and the Servers (all of them) on the same quad core machine - is that possible? If I can't do the first then the 2nd objective is to run the servers on the quad core and access the client functions from my laptop. Which direction should I go?
