IS-Utilities ECC6 CIC0 Support

In Dec-2018, we were informed that SAP has extended support for original CIC0 ( re-incarnation of EC20) - now to 2025.

This utility, in North America, is implementing S/4 HANA FINANCE 1605 with ISU - 618/SP-5, and has chosen to implement CIC0 ( yes - the old one that replaced EC20) - and SAP's extended support for CIC0 was cited in that context.

Over the years, many Utilities in North America - had concluded that support for built-in CIC0 (aka - ISU-CIC0) had ended in 2013. As such, many of these utilities are confused , and would like to find out - if the support for ISU-CIC0 is really extended to 2025.

Thanks

PS: CIC0 appears so archaic, that there is no Appropriate Primary / Additional Tag for this post. Out apologies for incorrect tag.

According to Simplification List for SAP S/4HANA 1909 Initial Shipment Stack (1.13 – 2019-09-12), however, CIC0 and EC20 are supposed to be gone from S/4HANA (on premise):

The alternative we'll have to look for eventually then is - configurable (and transportable) «launchpad» for transactions and ABAP programs grouped by functionality... Is that Fiori Launchpad then..? 🙂

I played around a bit with the initial setup of what "Fiori stuff" is available on Basis 7.40 IS-U 617 system, and thus far the only definite initial impression is: excruciatingly slow on the hardware/software setup I'm using to access the system currently...

cheers,
Janis

We are still using the CIC0 today and my understanding is that it will be supported through 2025.

At the SAP for Utilities Conference in October, SAP encouraged customers to look at alternatives such as this one here: https://blogs.sap.com/2018/10/21/sap-s4hana-utilities-for-customer-management-a-sap4u-recap/
