Hi,

Portal is supported in PPM 5.0.

For using SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 in the SAP Enterprise Portal, you must install the "Business Package for Portfolio and Project Management 5.0". You can download this Business Package from e.g.:

http://help.sap.com

-> Documentation

-> SAP Business Suite

-> SAP Portfolio and Project Management

-> SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0

-> Business Package for SAP Portfolio and

Project Management 5.0

Please note that you must install the "Business Package for ERP Common Parts 1.5.1" as a mandatory prerequiste to use the "Business Package for Portfolio and Project Management 5.0".

SAP Note 1377104

Hi Angelika,

I think the question was not if it can be used with the Portal, but more if it still must be used with the Portal.

The answer is "No".

There are 3 usage types described in the PPM 5.0 Master Guide, please check it in the Service Marketplace:

1. Portal

2. NetWeaver Business Client for HTML

3. NetWeaver Business Client for Desktop

RPM can be thought of as a subset or component of PPM. RPM and cProjects started out as seperate modules and from v4.0 onwards SAP has gradually combined these to modules into 1 and called it PPM. From what I have heard of PPM 5.0 the integration is seamless and looks more like a single module when with compared v4..5.

Hi,

starting with the next release, the application SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 will replace both the SAP Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP RPM) application and the SAP Collaboration Projects (cProjects) application.

Kind regards,

Hi Florian,

Does this mean that this 'merger' of cProject and xRPM from PPM 5.0 onwards will allow all the features of xRPM to run without the "SAP Portal"? Asking because earlier (in 4.0 or 4.5) xRPM required 'SAP Portal' to run. Hence want to know whether it still requires the same as mandatory component or optional component?
