Hello,
we need to compare an alternative plan version with our active plan version. In alternative plan version there are changes beginning 01.01.2010. In some cases we get error messages by copying these changes over to the active plan version:
Update of S XXXXXX ran with an error
Change for person XXXXXXX extends too far into past.
We don't know why changes must be made so far into the past??? Why does the update of objects S ran with an error???
Because of these error messages we can't copy the changes to the active plan version.
We have no idea what to do.
We appreciate any advice.
Regards,
Daniela
I'm guessing you have PD and HR integrated turned on (i.e change to PD site would automatically made it over to HR master). As there's a change to position on PD site, this triggers change over to master data for ee assigned to this position in IT0001. Since the change was made too far in the past (comparing to what's set in the payroll control record the ee is in), this causes an error.
Depending on the business need, you could either temporary turn off HR/PD integration (so change in PD doesn' t migrate over to HR) which may cause these to be out of sync, or change Earliest Retro account date in control record (keep in mind, you may also have to reset ee's IT0003 Earliest MD Change for the ee if you don't want to have payroll retro.
Rgds.

Hello Ted,
yes, you are right, we have PD and HR integrated turned on.
I know that changes in PD triggers changes over to master data, but I do not understand why the system wants to make changes that are so far in the past, although we have selected period 01.01.2010 - 31.12.9999 for comparison.
Maybe someone here has an explanation???
Regards,
Daniela
