Hello,

I would like to the basics of the integration between BO and SAP ERP. Can anybody share some experience with connecting the BO XI 3 (or any other BO app) with NW trial (or any other SAP)? Can anybody points me to some tutorial? Howto?

Thank you, Otto

p.s.: I would like to talk to anybody who has any experience with integrating BO to SAP

Nazdar/ Hello everybody,

maybe somebody can point me to a document where i could find the minimum set of steps to be able to access SAP BW from any BO app? For example: it is a known fact Crystal reports can access SAP BW, in the connection manager it is one of the options. Does anybody know what do I have to install to be able to connect from crystal designer to the SAP BW?

This is not the first time I am asking the question, but looks like the process is a) too complicated (at least for me!) b) not well documented from SAP (I wonder how SAP spread this knowledge, is it contagious so I ned to find a guy to understand that myself?) c) not at all described by any SDN contribution/ any blog/ any usual SAP "fan" pages source.

Can anybody help me to find the minimum set of steps to create a working demo?

Thank you for your time and effort.

Regards Otto

Hi/Nazdar Otto,

regarding connecting Crystal Reports to SAP BW backed check out following blog:

http://sapport.blogspot.com/2009/05/creating-reports-based-on-sap-bw.html

Essential is to install tool called BusinessObjects Integration Kit for SAP on the workstation where you will be developing Crystal Reports queries.

I though I am supposed to install the integration kit on the server. Oh my, I could have spared all that time:)) I will make that work (hopefully) and write a blog about it not to let anybody else struggle like me. Thank you for your most valuable help, Otto

Looks like this is not common task people try at home. I will not find anybody to talk about it? Have a nice day, Otto

Glad i am not the only one who is interested:)) But I have very little experience with the integrations so you´re far ahead. That could help here. NW ABAP trial has some BW inside (no content etc) and BO trial should be full-featured, so the same one you have the experience with. That probably means you have all the experience needed to do this:)) Would you mind if I ask you some questions? I am eager to learn some BW and though this BW/BO thing would be a cool think to learn. Maybe you have any howto/ tutorial about integration of these two? Or you have "found" all the magic by yourself?

Have a nice day, Otto
