serial Number Popup Screen in Physical inventory count

Hi all,

When i make the Serial number profile mandatory at material master level, then i am able to get the Serial number popup screen in Physical Inventory count transaction (say in T-code MI10).

But when i make the Serial number profile optional in material master, then this popup is not appearing in MI10 T-code.

why is it so?

if it is optional, then system must provide the serial number maintainence screen and let the user decide, whether he wants to specify the serial number or not?

you can maintain serial number profile in material master only.

Optional selection is not possible.

If you maintiains it is mandatory other wise not.
