Asset Class - Master Data & Depreciation Area Section

Hello Sap Gurus,

I was refering SAP AG notes on asset accounting where in definition of asset class, it has been mentioned that asset class consist of master data section & depreciaiton area section.

Master data section consist of Account Determination, Number Ranges & Screen Layout Rules. Depreciaiton area consist of Depreciation terms.

I am not clear on dep area section because when check t.code OAOA for asset class, there is no dep term there.

Kindly clarify my doubt. Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Asset class definition will be done at client level. This will include account determination, number ranges, screen layout for master data.

But the depreciation terms part is COD dependent.

All asset classed can be used across all company codes. And each company code may require diff dep terms.

So in this context, you need to mainttain the dep terms at each COD level with OAYZ.

Once asset class can have more than one set of dep terms. (Once set of terms at each COD).

Depreciation terms are applicable as soon as you assign Asset Class to the Depreciation area in transaction OAYZ.
