RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE

One of the step we need to perform during the Post Upgrade (BI 7 Techincal Upgrade) is to run report RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE.

I understand that this report will activate all the InfoObjects.

Question is will this report activate those InfoObject that still in D or M version?

I mean those InfoObject that I do not want to activate.i.e. In the system, there re some InfoObject that are not activated because we dont use them.

If I run this report, will it get activated?

Exactly what will be activated by this report?

Please advise, thank you.

Hi ,

When you run the report RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE and you do not specify any selection criteria then it will activate all the info objects in your system.

How to Exclude some info objects

If you need to do so , while running the report it will give you a screen where you can give list of info objects that needs to be excluded , it will then activate all other objects.

Or you have any predefined object list which needs to be activated then you can give that object list as selection of info objects it will only activate those info objects.

All objects means weather I use it or not? Then this is dangerous as we dont need to have all the InfoObjects to be activated as we dont use it.

I do a quick test, I think it will NOT activate any InfoObject in "D" version, which I have not activated yet from Business Content.

I think the program will activate those infoObject in "M" version only, that means I have install them from Business Content, and now this InfoObject appear in RSA1, BUT I have not yet activate them.

What do you think?

Yes these type of reports will never activate any thing in version D.Even if we want it will not activate any thing with version D.

If you specify any object with version D to get activated (which is not installed yet in your system), you will get a message saying No Entries selected --> Operation not executed

So if you don't specify anything while running this report it will only activate those who are in version M.

You can also do a quick check with this program by taking any object which is only in D Version.

Thanks for confirmation.

So it is safe for me to run this report with "*" on the selection screen.

And this will not activate any other InfoObject that are not installed form Business Content.

correct?
