Early inspection lot for Repetative mfg industry

Hi Folks,

We are working in repetitive mfg industry. We use to transaction MFBF to create 04 type inspection lot. Could we use "early insp lot" funda in our business?

I made same setting for 04 inspection type in 1 of material but if I do MFBF then system create lot with actual qty same as order qty. As per my knowledge in early insp lot system will create with lot qty as "0" and we have do GR after RR done.

So why in my case system create lot with same actual qty?

Wanted to update you 1 more thing that in our business we are not doing RR in SAP. We just do UD in SAP.

Tom.

SAP doesn't promise that the control insp lot values work in all instances.

I believe you'll find the repetitive scenario is one of these.

I think the reason is that in repetitive you specify the qty and this qty is expected to be repeated over and over. Therefore each new inspection lot that is created, should always be for the same qty as well. If you aren't repeating the same qty, then maybe a regular production order should be used. But that's more a PP question.
