Hi Gurus,
Can anybody please let me know what all come under the PTP flow and logistics execution? For example stock transfers between plants, storgae location to storage location stock transfers, inventory counts and adjsutments. Does only WM movmenets come under logisitcs execution? likeWM managed storage locations to WM managed storage location and picking, putaway, transfer orders etc. Please throw some light on this.
Also what would be considered as a standard process flow for PTP. For example, procure to stock using MRP? If this is considered as the standard PTP flow, then what about the pruchases that are made for cost center or stock procurement starting not relating to MRP (based on a requisition or direct creation of PO?). I'm trying to understand the actual meaning of a standard process flow and the variants in the process flow of PTP. I would greatly appreciate the answers, as this will help me better understand the process flow
Thanks
Anusha

Unfortunately not that simple. I do not believe there is any clear separation between what is considered MM and LE or IM and LE as LE is a term defined later than MM/IM and covers aspects of the former.
GRs, transfers and GIs could be considered to be a part of all of them.
The Warehouse aspect is now definitely LE. Deliveries are now considered to be LE too (were SD).

Typically:
PTP covers
Transactional:
Requisition > PO > GR (MM) or SES (PTP) > Invoice
Originin of Requisition may be MRP, PM etc. or might go straight to PO.
Possibly RFQs
Often STOs
Master Data:
Vendors
Purchasing segment of material master
PIRs
Ouutline Agreements/Contracts etc.
Source List
Quota
LE covers:
Transactional:
GRs
Transfers (internal or external)
Deliveries: Pick, pack, PGI
WM
GIs
WM aspect
Master data:
WM > a lot !
Plant/WM aspects of material master

Hi Anusha,
Additionally:
Logistics Execution:
Please check in SAP online help (on the left) which is LE from SAP point of view:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/cb/973735ec50d33de10000009b38f889/frameset.htm
WM, EWM, Shipping, Transportation, Yard Management, DSD, Inbound deliveries, etc
(on the left you can see which things belong to LE)
P2P
This is not a modul, it's rather a business process that may involve a few modules (mainly MM, FI) in SAP and what components it has actually may depend on the feature of the business (e.g. a service company may have a little bit different P2P activity than a manufacturing company --> e.g a service company doesn't tend to use KANBAN) (but who knows?) - this is just my opinion.

On the internet you can search for procure to pay SAP trainings and you will see what tey conatin.

Csaba
