SAP Logon IView Problem - Changing the expired password in anonymous Portal

Hey guys,

I have a Problem with my IView- Login.

At first a little description:

I downloaded the "com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par" and customized that one in NWDS..upload to Portal. In Portal, i created an PAR-Iview, set the portal component to default (uses the default class) and linked the Iview in the Anonymous Portal (aka Framework) as "anonymous".

Everything works fine, for example:

- Login pass

- Error Message pass

- Self Registering pass

- HelpPage pass

The Problem is, when a user got a new initial password and he tries to login, then he has to change the password but only an error message appears (Password expired) and he has no chance to set the initial password and set a new one...

BUT...when I use the "Standard Login Page" everything works fine...and I dont know what's the Problem

So, can anybody of the SAP gurus help me?

Hi Marcus,

The password expired message does not necessarily mean that the user will be able to reset/ change the password themselves. This is controlled by the properties in UME settings

If you want the users to change their password if they have forgotten their password then you need to enable the security question feature and assign the UME action UME.Logon_Help to a role assigned to the group anonymous users.

If you want users to manage their own passwords then assign the action UME.Manage_My_Password to a role assigned to the everyone group.

Hi Nikhil,

thx for your quick reply

The thing is, i already changed these actions for the UME and assigned all actions that exists to the testrole...that was actually an desperate act^^....yeah...but nothing.

The users can't change their initial password on start page...very strange...just an error message "password expired"

Hi Kaze,

That's strange to know. Can you try to see some traces in defaultTrace.trc or in security.log as to why the password is expired.
