Trouble with columns wrapping to multiple pages in detail

I am somewhat new to Crystal Reports and need help with columns. I have 3 group headers and want my detail in 2 or possibly 3 columns. I have set the detail for columns, down then across. But the column continues onto multiple pages. This is a transcript report that must be one page. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Seth, Down and across will do that. It is going to go down first then across. You should be able to change that

to across then down. Also, you may need to check the format groups with multiple column on the layout tab.

If that does not get you what you want, you could try a cross tab

I am able to almost get the columns correct by checking "format groups with multiple columns" for the details section. But unfortunately this overlays the columns over the group headers.

an unfortunate result of the grouping. You may need to reduce the size of the text, or change the paper size to be wider. Or course, I am sure you have limits for what you can do and the report still look good.
