Error in uploading the link

Hello Gurus,

I have been trying to attach the URL in cv01n on the originals field. I did that and also assigned the object link as well.

When I try to open the document it says..it could not be accessed. I was just wondering whether my config is correct.

I can understand the reason of error is due to path...because when I get into DC30..I have defined c:\temp in default PC

but the link starts with http:
....I have also checked in dc20 to make sure data carrier thype as been defined as PC.

Do I need to do any special config to open the external link thru SAP ? Pls help me step by step what are the config needs to be done to retrieve the extrnal document into SAP.

Hi Mahee,

please see the following link which should help to get the URL link assignment working in your system:

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/CA-DMS-LinkingURLpagestoDocuments

Please note that you may not have to checkin such URL originals because otherwise the URL path (http://.....) will be corrupted when you display the file again.
