Hi all,
We are doing technical upgrade from APO 3.0 to SCM 7.0 on client side and we have to solve following problem u2013 how correctly set up connection between SAP R/3 and SCM 7.0?
What we already done:
1. Copy APO 3 production to APO 3 test
2. Upgrade (full) from APO 3 test to SCM 7 test (prepare, upgrade,u2026)
3. Copy SAP R/3 production to SAP R/3 test
Steps 1 and 2 were did in the 5th and 6th week 2010
Step 3 in the 7th week 2010
Our goal is carry out following steps:
4. Set up connection between SAP R/3 test and SCM 7 test
5. Testing SCM 7 functionality according client requirements
6. Copy SCM 7 test from old server (S1) to new server (S2). S2 would have been for SCM production
7. Set up connection between SAP R/3 production and SCM 7 production
Our question is:
What procedure is have to be done in step 4 (test) and step 7 (production)?
The client has approximately 4500 finished products.
We are considering following options:
A)
- set up CIF connection between R/3 and SCM (based on best practices)
- run report SAPAPO/CCR (multiple times)
--How big changes this report can solve?
- run STD transport between R/3 and SCM with jobs (RIMODGEN, RIMODAC2, CURTO_CREATE, RIMODINI)
B)
- delete client 060 (planning version 000) v SAP SCM
- create new client 060
-- What does it means in this issue?
- set up CIF connection between R/3 and SCM (based on best practices)
- run STD transport between R/3 and SCM with jobs (RIMODGEN, RIMODAC2, CURTO_CREATE, RIMODINI)
C)
- delete data in SAP SCM 7
-- How we can do this?
- check livecache
--LC10 (note 640107)
- set up CIF connection between R/3 and SCM (based on best practices)
- run STD transport between R/3 and SCM with jobs (RIMODGEN, RIMODAC2, CURTO_CREATE, RIMODINI)
What we have to do with livecache after upgrade?
Based on a upgrade guide - during the upgrade APO 3.0 -> SCM 5.0 and SAP SCM 5.0 -> SCM 7.0 is livecache saved into DB, livecache is newly load after livecache upgrade from DB
Doesnu2019t safer delete data from livecache and run initialization later with data transfer R/3 -> SCM 7.0? (note 640107).
Our problem is in data consistency. We must integrate SCM to R/3 which is cca 1 month data later than SCM.
The main problem is :
How to consolidate data correctly between fresh R/3 and older SCM ?
Thanks,
Lukas
Hello Lukas,
1.First of all, as you know from PAM Upgrade to SAP SCM 7.0
from SAP SCM 2007; SAP SCM 4.1; SAP SCM 5.0 is generally supported, and it was tested locally.
2.If you are planning the PROD system APO 3.0 upgrade to SCM 7.0, I recommend to run
the APO system copy in sync from PROD to TEST.
SAP note has the steps to run the APO copy:
210564 Copying a complete APO system
After that run the inconsistencies checks u2013 internal < //om17>, external <//ccr or delta3 report>,
additional checks as pro SAP note 425825.
The TEST system has to be in consistent status before you will start the upgrade.
Then you will run the upgrade to SCM 7.0 according the SCM 7.0 upgrade guide and
test, if you have issues with download/upload liveCache data.
It will help you to estimate the downtime for the PROD upgrade.
As you know, SAP note 1064891, the /SAPAPO/DELETE_LC_ANCHORS program must not run during the upgrade
3.u201CDoesnu2019t safer delete data from livecache and run initialization later with data transfer R/3 -> SCM 7.0? (note 640107).u201D
Itu2019s dependent of what kind of data you have on your system.
Itu2019s dependent how much data you have on your system.
The initial data transfer from connected R/3 system using Initial Integration Model
to SCM 7.0 & rebuilding your APO data could be much longer, if you have the big amount
of the transactional data. There could be another issues too.
When you use the /SAPAPO/OM_LC_UPGRADE_70 report to download/upload the liveCache data, liveCache transaction data is downloaded/uploaded in parallel, and if required, cross-client as well. Itu2019s working faster & safety, tested internally. We recommend to test the download/upload steps on the PROD system copy to see if there any issues with the customer specific data.

hello Sachin,
1.First of all, I will repeate, as you know from PAM Upgrade to SAP SCM 7.0
from SAP SCM 2007; SAP SCM 4.1; SAP SCM 5.0 is generally supported, and it was tested locally.
2. If you need to to perform APO 3.1 to SCM 7.0 Upgrade, then you could run the upgrade in two steps, which are tested on the local machine.
You will find the documentations/notes.
3. Create SAP message if you have additional questions on SCM upgrade procedure.
