strategy group for make to order while running mrp against sales order by MD50

Dear sir/madam,

Which make to order planning strategy should be used in which raw material stock should be reserved and consumed against the sales order of finish goods ( FERT) and pr should be generated in case when there is no stock for raw material (ROH) available. How can i fix this please help me out.

Hello

Field individual/collective of the material master controls if your material gets linked to the sales order stock or not. If it is linked to the sales order (individual stock), then it won't consider existing stock. If you choose collective stock, existing raw material stock will be considered, but there will be no assignment to the sales order special stock and this component will not be planned in MD50 (only in MD02 or in the batch MRP executions).

Hello Dhiraj,

As per understanding If you are following MTO scenario.You cannot consume the existing Sales Order stock to a any other sales order until you transfer the stock.So that system will generate PR while running MRP in MD50. If you are using MTO secnario MRP running will consider stock irrespective sales order/PIR.

Thanks for your answer sir. I tried strategy 20 as well as 50. But my senario is that i want to consume my existing stock of raw material for a particular sales order. And if there is no stock available for raw material system should generate PR for it when i run mrp by md50. When i tried for strategy 50, (With the required setting in Material Master) system is comsuming the raw material stock but not generating PR in case of shortage. In case of strategy 20 System is planning for raw material but not considering existing stock. See if you can find some solution for my issue.

Hi Dhiraj,

Did you tried with Standard MTO Strategy : 20 ?
System will consider only those stocks of the Raw Material , which are assigned to the respective Sales Order, which is linked in the Production Order ( Please find below attached screen shot, for this Strategy 20( Pure make to Order)
