Installation 4.1 SAP SP11 patch 600

Hi,

I installed on windows server 4.1 SP11 SBO and on client.

I get a problem when i launch Universe Design Tool the windows close abnormally randomly.

Somebody can meet this problem ?

Do i install the last patch 600 ?

Hi everyone,

Finally we have installed the patch 6 for SP 11

I hope that will be good.

I don't undestand why when i open the UDT and few seconds after, it's crash so the UDT windows closed.

I hope that the patch will help us.

I have got some questions:

Can you give me all parameters to put trace logs please ?

I found 2 files: cs.cfg and BO_trace.ini.

And the second question: Where do i find the location log folder in client ? My server version is 4.1 SP11 patch 6.0.0.

With my team, we will think for installed SP12 version without patch ?

What do you think about this idea ?

Sorry Denis, thank you forlink about tracing. I had no see above the diiscussion.

I activated but where is the location log folder or what is the log's name to see the log tracaing please ?

Now the server version: Windows SERVER 64 bits, 4.1 SP5 before and now SP11 patch6.0

On client computer: SP11/patch 6.0.0

Denis is right, I thought that was IDT (Information Design Tools), which depends on Java.

I launched the UDT and please see the error message:

"universe design tool has stopped working"

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.Please close the program.

We found. The problem came from sso security module which prevented the UDT works.

So we installed on another client and it's fine.

For activate the trace, i must use the BO_trace.ini and cs.cfg ?

Is there others file to activate log trace ?

I search folder log but i didn't find.

The server is Windows Server 64 bits

We just install the patch 6.0.0 on server and the client.

Our version java is 1.8.0.111

We test on next monday

According to you, the patch 6 should be good ?

Or I have to get an old java version as 6 or 7 ? What do you think ?

Universe Design Tool is not dependent on java, Information Design tool uses the java SAP provides (as is webi rich client).

The issue you have is most likely related to the OS configuration on your client machine.
You should enable trace for UDT and see what it says and use Microsoft tools, like process monitor, to see what's happening to UDT and why it crashes.
Another good place to look is Event viewer.

according to the Patch Release Note "https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2634182"

This type of problem is not listed. Therefore, it may be due to a problem on your client (conflict with Java versions) or errors in the universe that cause IDT to crash.

....

Also, it's always better to update to the latest patch.

For you in installing the SP12, that will solve the crash's problem.

So first we'll test on monday if SP11/patch 6.0.0, it will be good
