Fiori Launchpad / Site can't be reached / New Tab / vhcals4hci.dummy.nodomain

Hi all,

we have an issue with SAP Fiori Launchpad. Log on via Chrome / IE works fine. Menu can be accessed.

However, when a new tab is opened (outbound deliveries e.g.) we get the error "Site can't be reached". We replaced "vhcals4hci.dummy.nodomain" with our IP address but no luck. Does neither work with Chrome, IE or Firefox.

have you add "vhcals4hci.dummy.nodomain" to your hosts file (on client)?

is your client behind firewall?

Hi Matthias,

if Fiori per se comes up, the host file mapping is not the issue.

Potential causes:

- Did you use port 44300 ? Try 44301 since this goes via the Web Dispatcher

- What appliance release are you using ? Especially for the newly released S/4 1809 fully-activated, try the URL vhcals4hcs.dummy.nodomain:44301/.... (note the cs in host name) since we changed the handling of cs/ci a bit in the appliance to ease the integration with the SAP Solution Manager appliance in the future.

Thanks, yes I think that was the issue. We used the pre-configured VM and it works now. Just strange that the initial log in on the Fiori Launchpad worked but new tabs (sometimes) were not supported.
