Syndication Issues..No file on Ready folder??

Hi Guru's

We are not getting any syndication file from any repository on our dev server. This was running fine till yesterday and now its like shut off everything.

We tried all options:-

1.Starting and stopping MDM server.

2.Starting and stopping mdss.

3.Loading an unloading repositories.

4.Resetting the encrypted passwords for repositories to check whether MDss is working.

5.Also checked

- that the Suppress Records Without Key map property is enabled

- looking in the Syndicatior and saw th erecord that syndicates turns white and in Destination preview we can see th XML file which is been sent to Ready folder.

Issue---No file is received on Ready folder.

Any ideas/inputs ,inwhat would i be missing to check?

Regards

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the replies.

As in my post we had everything right in mdss.ini file.

Issues was in mds.ini file where the distribution /root was changed by ome Basis user.

This was fixed and its working now.

Thanks evryone fo you time and support.

Hi Vikrant,

Has someone changed Admin password in Console?

Bydefault MDSS.ini file has Admin as User, & blank password encrypted.

Please check user in MDSS.ini for your repository.

Change the Password of that User in Console.

Now go to MDSS.ini file..... Change PasswordE = XXXXXXXX to Password = (your New Password)

And again restart Syndicatinr server.

Now again go to MDSS.ini file & check is your new password encrypted.

Your Automatic syndication should work now

In Console make Port Processing Type as Automatic & Processing Interval as Continuous

Thanks,

Maheshwari

Hi Vikrant,

Apart from the above steps please check manually to download the data into your local machine.Whether you can able to download.

If yes.. Port is working fine.

If not...Then try to unload the repository and load with "Update Indeces".Then try to syndicate it again.

Apart from the above steps check "Suppressed Unchanged record" Option if it is checked you will not abloe to syndicate unchanged records,If you changed any records then only you can able to sndicte..try with these options let me know the results

Hope it Helps!

Thanks

Hi Yugandhar,

Thanks for your reply.

Itseems that issue is related to server.Seems like server and repositories are not talking to each other.

To test this i created a New port in MDM .But i did not find any new port when i checked in mds.

Do you know what could be the issue.

Hi,

There are a number of things that you could check.

1. Do you have any Anti-viur software runing on the machine, it could be lblocking the port.

2. Please check inside the mdss.ini file to see if the name of the server is correct. If the syndicator server is running on the same machine you do not need the fully qualified pathname to the server. If it is not on the same machine there may be a problem with the DNS, try changing the server name to the IP of the server running MDS.

3. If the operations above dont work I would open an OSS.

Stanley.
