SAPCAR not working when extracting files

Hi

I'm trying to extract SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR using SAPCAR. I've got the latest version of SAPCAR and I'm able to use SAPCAR to see the contents of the SAR file, but when doing an extract (xvf), it just seems to hang. It's created a folder, but that's it. Any ideas? Is there a space problem?

Thanks

Thanks for your answers guys. The best option for me in the end was to SAPCAR on my PC and I use the wonderful freeware called Filezilla to transfer it. Great tool.

Hi,

May be the file which you want to extract is having corruption.

Verify the correctness of that File using the following command.

sapcar -dvf SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR

The result should be positive for all contained files.

If the correctness of SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR file is giving any negative feedback, then please download the fresh one again from Service Market Place.

I have extracted SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR file using sapcar version 700_REL (build 780172). It did not give me any error.

Also, Ensure that the path where you are performing is having sufficient space (>309 MB).

Another SAPCAR is there at different location in folder \EHP1\abap\tools. But, it will not be the reason for hanging the extraction process. It will give you some error in that case.

Hi,

I am not sure whether SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR contains SAPCAR also.

You can try as below:

1. rename existing SAPCAR to SAPCAR1

2. then use SAPCAR1 to extract SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR.

SAPCAR1 -xvf SAPehpi_15-10005808.SAR

It will work then...
