Analysis for Excel prompt is not working when connecting with HANA views from CAR system

Dear Experts,

I'm trying to connect HANA view to Analysis for excel tool(2.7 version).whenever i try to open the HANA view, report is displaying without prompting the variable screen.I can see its working with BI system and BI on cloud as well.We have some views on CAR system.I can pull the data to analysis for excel from the CAR views except variable prompt option.we need variable prompt to restrict the data else the report will load for long time as we have huge data.

Please share your ideas if you come across the issue before.

Note:BI currenly i'm using is on HANA DB and CAR is purely a HANA DB and system.I tried in both calculation and analytical view from CAR.Both the data is coming to excel without variable prompt and its in disabled mode. But i can connect any BEX querey and HANA views from normal BI system.

SAP GUI Version:750,740

Hi Raja,

I'm not familiar enough with variables in HANA views, but there seems to be some sort of built-in functionality for this:

A workaround I can think of is if you are eventually able to get the report to load despite the amount of data, you can then filter it dynamically to produce a small result set, and then save a workbook which you can work from in the future.

Did you find the solution for it. I am not able to see the prompt on Analysis for office for the variables defined in HANA calculation view.
