Duplicate Values in prompt values list?

Hi experts,

I was wondering if anyone has come accross this before?

I have a webi with an optional prompt that was created in the BEx query.

When I set the Webi variable to display a list of values to choose from I expected the list to show unique values.

Instead I am getting multiples of the available values?

Did you check if there are duplicate values in your datasource. Delete the LOV and recreate it or edit the query of LOV to have distinct clause.

Thank you for your quick reply.

My data source is a SAP cube and my filter is based on the attribute of a dimension.

I have tried deleting and recreating the list but it still happens.

Looking at the LOV it almost looks like it brings up one value for each member of my dimension.

LOV query always contains DISTINCT clause by default.

Are you using customised LOV by any chance?

I found another log today which explains that LOV based on attributes are never unique unfortunately

Thanks Sabine , its informative.......but i would like to drill more into this behaviour of attributes.
