SAP PI Upgrade - Dbl stack to single stack

Hi guys,

I went through some bried information regarding PI upgrade, but what I didn't find was following:
A,
There is a migration tool in PI. But that applies only to Directory objects. Is there a conveniet way for repository objects migration?

B,

If I understood it correctly, the best approach to go from double stack to single stack is a migration to java only system. SO I assume, the upgrade looks following:
1, create new (Java only) PI system (D,Q,P)
2, migrate objects from current PI environment there

But creating the new systems means changed SID.. That has a big impact on general scenario configuration, also on backend sides, right? And we have to reconfigure also those.. Or is my assumption incorrect and it should be done in a different way?

C,
According to documentation - PI/PO system should be on the same or higher version than backend.. That means, PI has to be upgraded first, backend then. Is it correct?

Hi Peter,

A - You can export SLD, ESR objects as tpz files and import it in new PI single stack. Easy right!!!

For ID part, yes, you have to use standard migration tool to convert the clasical configuration to Integrated configrations. You have to do some work when you have ABAP adapters otherwise it should be fine.

B - Yes you have to do all the channel configurations again.

C - what do you mean by backend system? is it netweaver suite version ?
