    Hi Shweta,

SMQ1 u2013 qRFC Monitor for the outbound queue You use this transaction to monitor the status of the LUWs in the outbound queue and restart any hanging queues manually.

SMQ2 u2013 qRFC Monitor for the inbound queue. You use this transaction to monitor the status of the LUWs in the inbound queue.

    Hope this helps !!!

    Hi Shweta,

Load balancing is a technique to distribute workload evenly across two or more computers, network links, CPUs, hard drives, or other resources, in order to get optimal resource utilization, maximize throughput, minimize response time, and avoid overload.

    Refer Section 3.1.3 of

    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70ada5ef-0201-0010-1f8b-c935e444b0ad

    Hope this helps !!!

    Hi Swetha,

Your first 2 questions are NOT specific to PI 7.1, Queue (inbound/outbond) are part of Application Server (Basis area) since SAP R/2, R/3 and so on as of today.

And your 3rd question regarding Alerts are also since XI 2.0, 3.0 and so on as of today new release.

Anyways...rather i explain using deep technical terms i would say in generic words

Queues - SAP system uses message queue for storing and forwarding information.

Please go through below link that gives you in general how Inbound & Outbound Queues are used/administrated

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/76/e12041c877f623e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

for your 3rd question, the earlier post is apot.

    regards

    Sekhar
