Dear All,
I cannot send email from my SAP Q1E server.
1. I have configured the SCOT.
I have defined a default domain.
I have created a SMTP entry.
I have started the "routing test". It works
2. From OS level : I start the following command - it works through communication port 25.
It means the standard smtp communication port 25 is opened.
telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 saperpqua1.ersnet.org ESMTP Postfix
3. From SAP level :
TA : SMICM - Goto Parameter - Display
icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25
4. From SAP level :
TA : SMICM - Goto Service
SMTP service is not activate !
I have stopped and restarted SAP. The SMTP service is still not activated.
I have stopped and restarteh ICM. The SMTP service is still not activated.
5. I have then activate the SMTP service via SICF.
6. I have then restarted the ICM (3. SMICM u2013 Administration u2013 ICM u2013 Restart - Yes).
Result :
From SMICM - Goto - Services, the SMTP service is still deactivated.
When I try to activate it, I get the following error :
Message no. ICM006
Thanks in advance for your input.
Best regards

If 25 is not getting activated, you are free to set any other port for SMTP.
There is no dire straight need to set port 25.
You can check if port 25 is being used by netstat command at OS level.
netstat -a |grep 25
If the port 25 is free, regardless of setting parameter it should work.

Hi,
3. From SAP level :
TA : SMICM - Goto Parameter - Display
icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25
The parameter which you have set is wrong.
Remove above parameter which you have set and restart the application.
Then goto SMICM check the SMTP service which should be in running state, IF not activate the service , which should come to running mode.
Thanks
Anil
