    Hello Nabheet Madan,

Thank you for responding to question and providing link to a good source of information, I am not a complete technical person, I learned ABAP out of interest and now I see one of SAP application is using CDS definition language to build models and then deploy them to cloud applications.

When I search about CDS definition language in web I found different sources of information and I am lost after seeing ABAP CDS, O-Data CDS, CDS views, CDS services; but I don't find any information as CDS definition language.

My target is to learn CDS definition language and create models for the SAP cloud application, can you please provide guidance for first few steps (very basic) then I will take it further.

just to add to the previous response. CDS - core data services. it is a language to create data models (entities, views, types...)

There are 2 flavors of CDS:

    1) ABAP -

    here is the documentation link:

    here is a tutorial

    2) HANA -

additionally... the language itself is very similar, however, it varies on some parts depending on where you build it (ABAP vs HANA). I am more familiar on the HANA side, but seeing the ABAP side looks very similar. Since you are looking into this topic from the ABAP side, I would also suggest to look into the APM (application programming model)

it would give you additional context within your learning in your next steps.

    happy learning!
