Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) Info Request

I apologize for this elementary question, but can someone point me to a link on how to setup ECM - both on the portal side and the abap side if applicable? I have scoured the web and can find lots of information on what ECM is and how to use it, but I can't find any technical information. Is it an sca file that I need to download or is it a switch I need to turn on? Any information at this point would be helpful.

For any technical details or configurational details of ECM you should go through following documentations

1) K86: Enterprise Compensation Management

Business Process Procedure

and

Enterprise Compensation Management (K11)

Building Block Configuration Guide

Both these documents will help you alot in understanding ECM
