Operating system call gethostbyname failed

Hi Team,

I am getting lot of event and SAP logs with bellow error

Operating system call gethostbyname failed (error no. 11004)

When I saw the WP trace i found the below line

• from the host file I don't have entry for <SID>CI **

Any help on this regard is appreciated

Hi,

Check SAP Note 388193 - gethostbyname call operating system failed

Note 992538 - EarlyWatch Alert: gethostbyname failed (error 11004)

I found one segment which is in shutdown state, need to wait for the system owner to confirm before deleting and checking if the problem exists.
