Error installing SAP IK XI 3.1 + SP2

Former Member

Have installed BOE XI 3.1 + SAP IK + BOE XI 3.1 SP2. Trying to install SAP IK SP2, I get the following error message...

"The SAP unicode RFC library could not be found. This library is avaialble as a part of SAP Frontend, which is a pre-requiste for the installation of this software. Please install 'Unicode RFC libraries' feature in SAP GUI 710 installer, then re-run this setup"

Per the installation documentation server side pre-requisites, I don't need SAP GUI installed on the server and have not installed it. I have installed SAP JCO. Copied the 2 dll files to Windows\System32 and copied the sapjco.jar to Tomcat shared\lib.

SAP Integration Kit XI 3.1 installed ok.

I am able to add the BW Server information in the SAP Authentication tab and import roles.

Using SAPJCO 2.1.8

Do I need SAP GUI on the server? Anybody seen this error message?

Assistance appreciated.

Thanks,

Thiag.

Hi,

you don't need the full SAP GUI but you will need librfc on the server, which is also mentioned in the installation guide.

Ingo,

Thanks for the response... I have both the librfc32.dll and sapjcorfc.dll in the Windows/System32 directory. SAP IK installed ok, able to set up SAP Authentication and import roles.

I'm only getting this error with the install of SAP IK - SP2. I have checked the install logs also, there are no other error messages.

Anything else, I can look at?

Appreciate the assistance..

Thanks,

Thiag.

Can you make sure verify the location is in the PATH ?

Yes. It is in PATH

%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Windows Imaging\

I've verified that the "System Root" translates to "C:\Windows"

that does sounds pretty strange. I would try to download again to make sure the source is ok. if that doesn't change the behavior I am afraid it is not easy to do this here in the forum. you might want to create a message with support so that they can look at your system directly.

I had a similar error and it worked for me.

Thanks! It worked!

The SP2 Install document needs to be updated. SAP IK SP2 - "SAP 710 RFC libraries" is a pre-requisite.

Hi Guys,

I was suffering the same and check the note your proposed.

I tried to modify installation of front-end gui. but because of the version difference i can not see 'Unicode RFC Libraries' under 'SAP GUI Suite'. My gui version is 7.10 (compilation 4).

I tried to find another oss note but no luck..

Do you have any idea what to do in this case?

Thanks
